Thank you Barbara

The Thornburn Ladies Badminton Association would like to acknowledge and applaud the contribution of Barbara Davie over the 18 years on the committee. Barbara has been President for the past 9 years and she was also the section 2 Match Secretary for a number of years.  Barbara has been an integral part of the TLBA and during her time on the committee we have seen the introduction of the rally point system and the establishment of the website.  Barbara was also involved in introducing the Tram Boat excursion, the coffee van at semi-finals and the Sunbury inter-club tournament.  Barbara has keenly represented TLBA at many Atalanta Jambourees.  Whilst we are saying goodbye to Barbara on the committee, she is not leaving the club and will continue to play and enjoy her badmintonbadminton agm presentation 2DSCN1197 (1)

Winners and Grinners

About 30 TLBA girls went to the new Boardman Badminton Stadium in Sunbury on Thursday 8th August to participate in the annual round robin tournament organised by Sunbury Ladies’ Badminton Association. Several clubs took part, about 90 players in all. 10 TLBA players won either 1st or 2nd on their court, an excellent result. The tournament was followed by a delicious lunch catered for by the Sunbury ladies. If you didn’t go this year, make sure you go next year as it’s a fun day!
